Arena Investors, LP is a global investment management firm that seeks to generate attractive risk-adjusted, consistent, and uncorrelated returns by employing a fundamentals-based, value-oriented investing strategy across the entire credit spectrum in areas where conventional sources of capital are scarce.
We are seeking a Chief Risk Officer (CRO) to join Arena. The newly created role will create a best-in-class risk management function overseeing Arena’s principal lines of business. The CRO will partner with our Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) and our operating Business Leaders to provide consultation and oversight to manage and anticipate enterprise-level and business segment risk.

• Partner with the CCO, CTO, Head of Asset Management and other Business Leaders to create a corporate-wide framework to ensure appropriate monitoring, measuring, and mitigation of various risk parameters, including credit, operational, interest rate, counterparty, market, and key person.
• Evaluate risk management policies, risk appetite, and risk limits within each business, with an eye toward standardizing practices and Key Performance Indicators.
• Utilize macroeconomic shocks to evaluate the potential impact on the firm.
• Advise and consult with leadership on new business opportunities and long-term risk strategies.
• Seek technology and innovation to align systems with a strategy to provide effective reporting tools.
• Work with Business Leaders to provide risk reporting and trend analysis on a Quarterly/Semi-Annual basis in a standardized “Dashboard” format.
• Participate in leadership meetings to provide a corporate-wide risk perspective.
• Maintain a current knowledge of developing trends and best practices in the enterprise risk management space.
• Work with the individual business unit risk management team to create innovative ways to reduce the firm’s risk exposure.
Requirements
•Bachelor’s degree from a top university.
• MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
• 5+ years at a senior level running or supporting a risk function in an insurance company asset management organization.
