Bilingual (English/Spanish) Global Sourcing Manager - Fruit & Vegetables

Location: Greater Santa Cruz, CA area – 100% onsite with relocation assistance provided

About the Role: You are responsible for sourcing manufactured/processed frozen fruits and vegetables that will then be sold by the company’s sales executives to existing and newly prospected clients. Note: This is very different from sourcing raw product that is then processed, packaged, frozen and sold.

Key Responsibilities:

Supplier Management & Program Development

• Build and nurture strong relationships with key supplier decision-makers.
• Lead annual demand planning processes to uncover opportunities and boost sales.
• Assess risks and provide strategic recommendations on payments.
• Collaborate with Strategic Supply Managers to enhance packaging solutions and negotiate favorable payment terms.
• Mentor and support Supply Account Managers in achieving shared goals.

Developing New Key Suppliers and Products

• Evaluate and onboard new suppliers, ensuring their commercial viability.
• Craft strategic plans, budgets, and timelines for supplier/product approvals.
• Provide competitive supply options and pricing to support sales and R&D initiatives.
• Negotiate supplier contracts that drive mutual success.

Market Engagement and Education

• Analyze global market trends to identify sales growth opportunities.
• Utilize trade intelligence data to stay ahead of competitors and engage with relevant suppliers.
• Share your expertise on commodity seasons and crop statuses with teams to optimize product availability.
• Contribute insights into the company’s quarterly Business & Crop Highlights report for customers.
• Represent the company at trade shows and during customer/supplier visits.

You Have:

• 8+ years of experience of global sourcing and supplier management, in South America, of fruits and/or vegetables. Frozen produce is preferred.
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is mandatory .
• B.S. in International Business, Agribusiness, Supply Chain Management, or related field; additional relevant experience considered in lieu of a degree.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Bonus if you have experience with Microsoft Dynamics
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Travel: This position requires up to 20% domestic and international travel.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Competitive salary, starting at $125,000 - 5% annual bonus. If you have FROZEN Fruit & Vegetable experience, the base salary can reach as high as $175K.
