We are looking for an energetic, caring, customer-service-oriented person to join our team. The right fit will be someone with a patient first attitude, focused on quality and is detail oriented, caring, compassionate and flexible to move between both job locations. The Medical Office Assistant position is a dual role that provides the initial contact experience to our patients from the point of scheduling appointments, customer service, registration, to rooming the patients at the time of their appointment, as well as assisting the provider and patient throughout their visit. This dual role is expected to provide exceptional customer service to our patients, guests, and vendors at all times regardless of the circumstance of a situation. The position is required to perform clinical and administrative duties as needed. The administrative duties will include but not limited to: answering phones, scheduling appointments within the guidelines set forth by the practice, registering patients, strong understanding of medical insurance, ability to learn the plans providers participate with, collecting and processing payments, accurately log payments to patient accounts, ability to explain skin care products and cosmetic procedures that are offered within the practice. The clinical duties of this role will include but not limited to: assisting with direct patient care, preparing exam rooms, obtaining patient histories, greeting patients, documenting professionally in the EMR, assisting providers with examinations, prior authorization, proper documentation, maintaining inventory supplies, communicating and or placing orders for supplies as needed, as well as educating patients and/or advising patients within the parameters set forth by the Medical director of the practice and finally ability to triage phone calls and other light administrative duties. The role of the Medical Office Assistant is a dual role that will require flexibility to work where needed as clinical and administrative staff. This is a snapshot of expected duties but other duties may be assigned to serve our patients with exceptional care and customer service. Note: This is a Dermatology group that has two locations Basking Ridge and Hillsborough and this role is required to travel between both locations to meet the needs of the providers and patients.
