Job Description

Pride Health is hiring a Phlebotomist to support our client’s medical facility based in Milwaukee , Wisconsin. This opportunity is a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform phlebotomy procedures, including venipuncture, capillary draws, heel sticks, glucose tolerance tests, and blood cultures, following AABB standards and facility protocols.
  • Accurately label and process specimens, adhering to special handling requirements such as tube count, temperature constraints, and centrifugation.
  • Complete laboratory requisitions and forms with accurate patient demographics, insurance details, and physician orders, ensuring compliance with Advanced Beneficiary Notification (ABN) policies.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure accurate logging, sorting, and distribution of laboratory reports.
  • Manage site inventory, ensuring proper equipment levels and reporting maintenance or replacement needs.
  • Keep work areas neat, organized, and compliant with safety and sanitation standards, including surface disinfection.
  • Proactively communicate concerns, changes, or issues to leadership and contact patients for repeat draws as needed.
  • Efficiently navigate site-specific computer programs, including EPIC, for patient registration and check-in.
  • Perform Urine Drug Collection and Breath Alcohol Testing (BAT) while ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Complete all required logs, tally sheets, and maintenance records on a weekly basis.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required:

  • Minimum of six (6) months of phlebotomy experience.
  • Proficiency in Windows-based computer systems and clerical tasks

Preferred:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Certification in Phlebotomy:
  • Phlebotomy Technician (PBT) – ASCP
  • Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) – ACA

Key Competencies:

  • Strong blood collection skills
  • Excellent attendance record

*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
