This CONMED position is an onsite position located at our CONMED headquarters in Largo, FL. You will get the chance to have hands-on experience with R&D and the R&D test lab.

As an R&D Test Lab Technician, you will learn alongside seasoned professionals through hands-on testing and development. This position requires an individual with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic. Your efforts in problem solving, creative thinking and cross-functional collaboration will directly contribute to ensuring safe and effective products for our patients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Execute packaging, mechanical, electrical, animal tissue, and/or software validation testing protocols and procedures with minimum direction or feedback needed after training.
• Perform testing on packaging systems, mechanical systems, tissue samples, electrical systems, and software validation protocols for short and long-term data collection studies.
• Maintain laboratory space for organization and cleanliness, and supply stock for tissue and equipment.
• Maintain lab equipment and manage the calibration process of lab equipment.
• Perform required weekly, monthly PM on laboratory equipment.
• Communication on Design Verification and Feasibility test/project progress and related information.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Job Requirements:

• Adequate dexterity or ability to use lab equipment and tools, including the ability to assemble test setups and test fixtures.
• Adequate dexterity or ability to use power and hand tools, and shop equipment.
• Ability to sit/stand for 8 hours.
• Ability to lift boxes up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a lab environment
• High School or Equivalent degree requirement, certificate training in related technical field.
• Good color perception for observing changes to samples.
• Experience working in a laboratory setting.
• Experience with good documentation practices, data collection and documentation.
• Knowledge of appropriate standards and procedures for good laboratory practices.
• Basic computer skills with working knowledge of M.S. Office required.
