Role: Senior Trading Systems Engineer (Full-Time, W2)
Salary Range: $180,000 - $280,000 (Base)
Location: Fully remote (USA)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Trading Systems Engineer to join our dynamic development team. In this role, you will be crucial in advancing and optimizing our trading platforms. Your expertise in limit-based order books, order management systems, trading APIs, and message queue/bus systems will be central to enhancing trading efficiency and maintaining our competitive edge. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to apply innovative technologies that keep us at the forefront of the trading industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Take a leadership role in developing and refining high-performance trading systems, with a focus on limit-based order books and order management systems.
Lead the integration and management of proprietary trading APIs (WebSocket) and FIX connectors, ensuring seamless and reliable market connectivity.
Design and oversee the implementation of message queue and message bus systems (e.g., Redis Streams, Protobuf), optimizing for high throughput and low latency.
Collaborate with the trading operations team to translate complex business requirements into scalable, reliable technical solutions.
Work closely with QA teams to ensure system integrity and performance, especially during peak trading periods.
Proactively address system performance challenges and implement solutions to continuously improve trading effectiveness.
Required Skills and Experience:

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
At least 5 years of hands-on experience in trading systems development, with a focus on building limit-based order books, order management systems, trading APIs, and message bus systems.
Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Rust and TypeScript, with a focus on efficiency and best coding practices.
Expert knowledge of message queue and message bus technologies, including experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, ZeroMQ, Redis Streams, or similar.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure trading environments.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable Additional Skills:

Extensive experience with the FIX protocol and a proven track record of integrating with various trading platforms and exchanges.
Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
A background in financial markets, trading strategies, and quantitative analysis.
Exposure to high-frequency trading (HFT) environments.
