Job Description

Onward Search is excited to partner with a school in Pierce County, Washington to find a passionate and dedicated Behavior Technician to support an elementary student in a 1:1 setting. This impactful, full-time role begins ASAP and will continue through the remainder of the school year.

Details You Should Know:

• Location: In-person only (no hybrid or virtual options)
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6.5 hours per day
• Caseload: 1:1 with elementary-aged student
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 32.5 hours

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct 1:1 behavioral support to an elementary student
• Implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and assist in modifying behavior
• Collect data on student progress and behavioral trends
• Work closely with teachers, administrators, and other support staff to create a positive learning environment
• Support the development of social skills and communication strategies
• Assist with academic tasks and activities, as needed
• Promote a safe and supportive classroom environment
• Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate on goal-setting
• Document progress, challenges, and any incidents to share with the team

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred)
• Previous experience working with children or students with special needs (behavioral or academic)
• Understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and techniques
