Job Title : Database Administrator (DBA) (US Citizens Only) Location: Remote
We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following qualifications:
Key Responsibilities :
- Administer configure and maintain relational and nonrelational databases (e.g. MySQL PostgreSQL Oracle SQL Server MongoDB).
- Perform regular database backups recovery and restore procedures.
- Monitor database performance troubleshoot issues and optimize query performance.
- Implement and maintain database security policies and user permissions.
- Manage database upgrades patches and migration tasks.
- Collaborate with application developers to design implement and maintain efficient database structures.
- Assist in data modeling and schema design for new systems or enhancements.
- Write and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures to support applications.
- Monitor database performance and identify potential issues bottlenecks and performance inefficiencies.
- Optimize SQL queries indexes and database structures for better performance.
- Implement strategies for scalability and high availability of databases.
- Implement and enforce database security policies to ensure data integrity and protection against unauthorized access.
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and best practices (e.g. GDPR HIPAA).
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for databaserelated issues.
- Respond to and resolve databaserelated incidents and service requests.
- Maintain system logs and document solutions to recurring problems.
- Develop and test database disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Ensure regular database backups are performed and successfully recovered as needed.
- Work closely with developers system administrators and other IT staff to ensure database availability and performance.
- Generate regular reports on database health performance and security.
- Provide training and guidance to junior database staff and other stakeholders.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field. (Or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar database management role.
- Handson experience with various database management systems (DBMS) such as MySQL PostgreSQL Microsoft SQL Server Oracle MongoDB etc.
- Experience with database backup and recovery strategies database security and highavailability systems.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and database query optimization.
- Experience with database tools (e.g. Toad SQL Server Management Studio pgAdmin).
- Understanding of database design principles indexing and normalization.
- Experience with cloud database technologies (e.g. AWS RDS Azure SQL Database) is a plus.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g. Bash PowerShell Python) for automation tasks.
- Knowledge of database monitoring tools (e.g. SolarWinds Redgate).
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) or other relevant certifications.
- Federal Experience is a plus.
- Required Security clearance.
