Job Description

As a Global Commodities Leader you will drive procurement excellence, foster supplier relationships, and optimize costs across international markets. In this critical role, you’ll spearhead sourcing strategies, ensure supplier performance, and navigate the complexities of global trade.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in sourcing, supply chain management, and supplier relationship management with expertise in navigating global markets.

Location: Fort Wayne, IN (Relocation assistance available)

Your Role:

As the Global Commodities Leader, you’ll:

  • Lead Global Supplier Management
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with international suppliers to ensure high-quality, reliable supply chains.
  • Monitor commodity markets to identify risks and opportunities, ensuring the best value for the business.
  • Optimize Costs and Contracts
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms to maximize profitability.
  • Stay informed on global trade laws, tariffs, and currency fluctuations to minimize risks and control costs.
  • Ensure Quality and Compliance
  • Partner with quality teams to conduct supplier audits and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all sourced materials comply with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Strategize and Innovate
  • Design and implement sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives and market trends.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance efficiency and drive innovation.
  • Analyze Data and Drive Results
  • Leverage data to monitor supplier performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Report on cost savings, strategic outcomes, and market trends to support decision-making.

About You:

You’re a proven leader with:

  • Expertise in Global Sourcing
  • 5+ years of experience in sourcing, supply chain, or commodity management, ideally in manufacturing or industrial settings.
  • Ability to manage $20M-$30M in annual spend across diverse international suppliers.
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship skills.
  • Strategic and Analytical Skills
  • Deep understanding of global trade regulations, tariffs, HS codes, and supply chain optimization.
  • Proficiency in SAP, LEAN principles, and data analysis tools.
  • Exceptional Communication
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills to engage effectively across cultures and organizational levels.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage projects successfully.
  • Global Mindset and Travel Readiness
  • Willingness to travel internationally up to 20%-35% annually to strengthen supplier partnerships.

Education, Certificates & or Experience

  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in international sourcing or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

Other Requirements

  • Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) is a plus.
  • Multilingual capabilities and experience in a LEAN-focused culture are bonuses.
