We are seeking an experienced  Safety Technician  to join our team. This role will be responsible for the  inspection, maintenance, repair, and calibration of life-saving safety equipment  such as portable air quality instruments, respiratory protection, fall protection, safety showers, eyewash stations, and more. The Safety Technician will ensure that all equipment complies with applicable manufacturer specifications, government regulations, and Green Light Safety’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). In addition, the role includes providing necessary  documentation and reporting  for customer invoicing and ensuring  customer satisfaction .

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  The following are the primary responsibilities of the Safety Technician. Additional duties will be assigned as needed.

  • Perform safety equipment services both in the Green Light Safety  shop  and on  customer sites , while maintaining a  safe  working environment and  professional  appearance.
  • Follow SOPs to ensure equipment operates in full  compliance  and meets performance standards.
  • Inspect, test, and evaluate  the functionality of safety equipment, comparing performance to manufacturer specifications.  Repair  malfunctioning equipment to meet tolerances.
  • Provide safety services and support life-saving equipment  rentals , including assisting with turnaround long-term onsite services.
  • Prepare equipment for rental, including setup, inspection, calibration, certification, evaluation, and cleaning upon receipt.
  • Understand and contribute to  productivity  goals to enhance profitability.
  • Assist with controlling expenses and recommend cost-saving measures to optimize operational  efficiency .
  • Collaborate closely with the  Manager  to  align schedules  and achieve organizational goals.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and meet set requirements while adhering to manufacturer specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on a diverse range of safety equipment.
  • Recap site visits and customer interactions with manager to attain customer service follow-up
  • Continuously expand expertise through manufacturer  training and cross-functional development  in a diverse range of Safety Service disciplines (e.g., instrumentation, respiratory protection, fall protection, etc).
  • Travel to  customer locations  as needed to perform repairs, maintenance, and turnarounds.

  • Written Communication: Read and interpret written materials, such as SOPs and equipment service guidelines, and  accurately   document service activities . Effectively prepare business  emails and reports  to managers and customers.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with all team members, exhibiting openness to others’ perspectives and contributing to a positive, team-oriented work environment.
  • Reasoning Ability: Solve practical problems and process a range of variables in situations with limited standardization. Interpret various formats of instructions, including written, oral, and diagrammatic.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient with hand tools,  diagnostic tools , and computer software to effectively service and repair safety equipment.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient use of Microsoft  Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and other relevant software applications for documentation and communication purposes.

Job Requirements:

  • Maintain a clean driving record and possess a valid  driver’s license.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, squat, walk with heavy equipment, and climb ladders.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, ensuring high-quality work is completed efficiently.
  • High school  diploma or GED required. At least one year of related experience or training preferred; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Experience in safety equipment or industry knowledge is preferred.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
