Job Description

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated Trading Operations Associate to join our dynamic team in San Francisco. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing operational support to the trading desk, ensuring seamless execution of trades, managing trading systems, and helping optimize the trading process. You will work closely with traders, risk management, and technology teams to ensure efficient and accurate trade execution, as well as resolve any issues that arise during the trading cycle.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Trade Execution Support :

• Assist in monitoring the execution of trades, ensuring they are processed accurately and on time.

• Manage real-time trading orders, assist traders with any execution issues, and troubleshoot problems with trade execution.

• Coordinate with traders and other teams to confirm trades and resolve discrepancies.

2. Transaction Settlement and Clearing :

• Ensure timely settlement of trades by managing post-trade activities such as clearing and trade reconciliation.

• Liaise with clearinghouses, counterparties, and brokers to resolve settlement issues and discrepancies.

• Monitor the status of trades and ensure proper documentation is completed.

3. Risk and Compliance Support :

• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies regarding trading operations.

• Assist with internal and external audits to verify the integrity and compliance of trade processes.

• Support risk management by helping identify potential risks in the trading process and providing solutions.

4. Trade Data Analysis and Reporting :

• Maintain and update trading data systems to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.

• Provide regular trading performance reports to management, highlighting key performance metrics and insights.

• Analyze trade data to identify operational inefficiencies, trends, and opportunities for process improvements.

5. System Monitoring and Maintenance :

• Monitor and maintain the trading systems and platforms used by the trading team, ensuring they operate smoothly.

• Work with technology teams to troubleshoot technical issues and implement enhancements to trading platforms.

• Assist with system updates and testing, ensuring the platforms are running optimally.

6. Stakeholder Coordination :

• Coordinate with multiple internal teams (such as technology, compliance, risk, and finance) to ensure the trading process runs smoothly.

• Liaise with external counterparties, brokers, and liquidity providers to address any trade-related inquiries.

7. Process Improvement :

• Identify areas of inefficiency in trading operations and collaborate with teams to implement process improvements.

• Help streamline workflows, improve trade execution speed, and ensure operational scalability.

Key Requirements:

1. Education :

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.

• Relevant certifications (e.g., Series 7, CFA, etc.) are a plus.

2. Experience :

• 2-4 years of experience in trading operations, financial services, or related fields.

• Experience with financial products such as equities, options, futures, and fixed income securities.

• Familiarity with trading platforms, order management systems (OMS), and post-trade settlement systems.

3. Skills :

• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to resolve complex problems.

• Knowledge of financial markets, trading products, and settlement processes.

• Proficiency in Excel and other data analysis tools; experience with Python, SQL, or other programming languages is a plus.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multiple teams.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
